This client is a world-leading provider of telecommunications equipment and related services to mobile and fixed network operators globally. Over 1,000 networks in 140 countries utilize its network equipment and around 40 percent of all mobile calls are made through its systems. It is one of the few telecommunication companies that are recognized worldwide and can offer end-to-end solutions for all major mobile communication standards.
 
Project Overview
The purpose of this project is to integrate some new features into an existing system of China Telecom who is a customer of our client. This will enable China Telecom to accommodate increasingly complex and volatile mobile telecommunication market. Being the largest and most valuable customer, China Telecom always demands for highest quality services and most efficient solutions for her vendors.

Solution from USE
The project is developed on global shared development framework, provided by client. USE made available a team of 14 highly skilled professionals to work closely with client onsite in order to accomplish project. Three new main features required to add in system are; PHS Short Messaging Service, Polymorphic Ring tones and 3G business. These can be further divided into the following major modules:

  • User Management
  • SP/CP Management
  • Business Management
  • Business Order and Consumption
  • Uniform Configuration Management
  • Uniform Content Management
  • Statistics Report
  • National Business Release Center    

 USE professionals also worked together with this client for development of testing tools. Using Perl and TCL, we developed testing automation tool which can be applied to system integration, verification and ATM and SS7 protocol testing on UNIX and Linux platforms.
