Online Bidding System for a french Customer

Client Overview
The client, a French company, offers professional procurement solutions to Euro-America companies, helping them create significant and sustainable value (cost, quality and service) in the procurement of their goods and services. This is done by leveraging the capabilities of China and Vietnam's supply markets. It supplies thousands of types of merchandise and these vary from uniforms to steel products.

Project Overview
The project is to develop a powerful web application which aims at providing qualified supplier selection proposal for all kinds of users.RFI (request for information) and RFP (request for proposal) are the 2 main parts of the application. The RFI section is used to discover the market and gather information about a list of potential suppliers. The client can define precisely the required budget, refine the project, narrow the potential supplier list and acquire a better knowledge before the RFP section. The RFP section starts when the budget has been finalized and the project defined. It is a decisive phase whose aim is to select the supplier who will provide the service.

Key point of the software:

  • Quick development needed and deployment within 2 months.
  • Friendly user interface: A simple user interface with the least possible screens(and the possibility for the user to always understand where he/she is and what he/she is doing)
  • A very good interaction with Excel that allows users to do most of the work in Excel and then import it into the tool for the purchaser as well as for the buyer
  • Powerful reports output that vary from PDF to Excel spreadsheet.

Solution from USE
The function of the application is broken down into 4 modules:
1. User and privilege management.
2. Supplier management.
3. Project management.
4. Reporting

The accessibilities and privileges of a user are classified into more than 10 levels; different types of user have different accessibilities to the information. So the application supports a powerful privilege management at both page level and function level, which carefully defines what kinds of information, can be seen by a particular user.

Supplier lib is the base of procurement; this is the module that manages thousands of suppliers and millions of goods and productions. USE supplies a better design which enables users to easily manage this info while giving a good performance at the same time.

The core of this application is Project Management, based on the basic information from Supplier Management, and the client input of RFP project, this module gives a BI (business Intelligence) arithmetic which provides the client an optimal proposal. This module also supplies a powerful interface program which can get user input by the format of Excel spreadsheet, and then transfer the input into the system, just like users input them by page UIs.

The output of Reporting can be more than four kinds: HTML page, PDF file, Word document, Excel sheet and others.
