Founded in 1983, our client has been providing reliable, trusted solutions and investment strategies to investment management organizations of all sizes. To continue to be the leading provider of financial services software, our client looked forward to expanding her engineering capabilities while maintaining a relatively fixed cost basis by outsourcing various applications development to UFIDA Software Engineering (USE). Therefore, the client established a dedicated development team with USE in Beijing in year 2005. 

Project Overview
At this time the client is in the process of developing a new smart client application for the Geneva series of products that employs Microsoft's .NET 2.0 framework and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (MSRS). This smart client application will serve as the new user interface for the Geneva application, a real-time portfolio accounting system for global asset managers, complex hedge funds, fund administrators and prime brokers. One of the main projects of our client Geneva is a Unix based system utilizing an object oriented main-memory resident database. There are approximately 200 reports that are shipped with the Geneva product today. These reports are written in Geneva's proprietary report language known as RSL. These reports will continue to be part of the product, at the same time, we will expand the existing reports set with the addition of MSRS reports. 
 

USE employees participate in the whole testing process, from test plan, test cases design and test automation implementation to test execution. As for test automation, we carry out an entire test framework for test case reuse, which follows Object Oriented methodology and is easy to maintain. Based on the test framework, about 70% of all test cases have been automated, which largely reduces manual testing efforts. 

Project Team Introduction
Concerning co-management, we have an in house project manager who is in charge of the project team in our company. Whilst on the client's side, there is a counterpart, who is in charge of the whole project. Both also act as account managers interfacing between teams in UFIDA Software Engineering and the client. 

The Project manager in USE is responsible for relationship management. She communicates frequently with the client and keeps a close working relationship. She solves the problems in time to ensure that project goes smooth and successful.
 
We have sync-up meetings at 8:30AM every week (Beijing Time) in Summer time while it is 5:30PM (PDT) in US. We use WebEx+ conference call for training or demo. Emails and "IM", such as Yahoo Messenger, MSN and Skype are used for instant contacting.
 
This project consists of 6 teams for 3 different products. Each product has its dedicated Dev team and QA team.
