The Client is a world leading Software Company, which focuses on providing business solutions to enterprises. Their enterprise management solutions are outstanding in manufacture management and supply chain management. Their products enjoy a high reputation all around the world. To expand their success within the Chinese market, they understand that they need to localize their software products to adapt well to the requirements of Chinese customers. So they came to us, as they known that USE is not only the leading software outsourcing company in China but also has a rich experience in enterprise management software.

Project Overview
We have been providing localization services to the client for three years. The projects involved the localization of large scale ERP software into three languages: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Japanese. The solutions we provided included Unicode enabling, software string extraction, Translation, Translation Memory management, content QA, project management, and software testing in multiplatform environment (Windows PC, and AIX emulation).

Solution from USE
To support continuous development of our customer's product and provide quality and stable localization services, we established an offshore development center for this customer. This Offshore Development Center has 8 members including a project manager, linguist, and technician. 

We use CAT (computer-aided Translation) tools - Traods and TTT (developed by Seagull Technology) to manage our localization process. Both of the tools can lower the overall project cost through Translation Memory technology. Translation Memory is a type of software that has the ability to store and reuse translations produced by human linguists and translators. Human translators always produce the translations, but the software remembers and empowers organizations to reuse those translations as content goes through revisions and updates. Translation Memory should not be confused with machine translation, a type of software that produces the translation itself and can be used to produce draft, but not high-quality translations. By contrast, translation memory stores and reuses already created human translations.
