Intellectual Property

Intellectual property (IP) is one of the company's most valuable assets. Having a modern view of IP and the IP issues in the defense and security business is critical. Nature and critical importance of intellectual property vary across types of business and industries. For businesses utilizing software development outsourcing, it requires high level of knowledge sharing between customer and vendor. IP that can be transferred to the client may include software, data, business and technology processes, trade secrets, inventions as well as other confidential information.

Since entry into the WTO, the protection of intellectual property rights continues to be strengthened in china. UFIDA Software Engineering Company (hereinafter abbreviated as "USE") was quick to recognize the importance of IP protection and keep effectively dealing with related issues as well as using all types of IP protection. In Sep 2007, UFIDA received the authorization from BSI (British Standards Institution). It certifies that UFIDA Software Engineering operates an Information Security Management System which complies with the requirements of ISO/IEC 27001:2005 for the scope of the provision of software outsourcing development services.

Training and education
Employees are the source of most intellectual-property losses, often unintentionally. To ensure that employees understand and take responsibility for their use of company information and resources, Information security training and occasional awareness is absolutely necessarily.

We are always seeking ways of strengthening IP protection awareness of employees through induction training education, annual audits and ongoing training in security control requirements, legal-regulatory-certificatory responsibilities, and generally accepted security procedures, suitable to the person's rules and responsibilities.

Security roles and responsibilities of employees are defined and documented in accordance with the USE's information security policy. Including:
• Act in accordance with the information security policy
• Report security events, potential events, or other risks to the company and its assets;
• Assign responsibility to the individual for actions taken or not take
• Protect all information assets from unauthorized access, use, modification, disclosure

Sign Non Disclosure Agreement
Strict security is needed to prevent theft and the leakage of information as employees leave the company. To ensure top security and confidentiality, USE insists on signing nondisclosure and non compete agreements with all clients and employees.

Employee Turnover
Outsourcing is a people intensive business. Close to attention to turnover will increase the risks of loss of control over your company’s information security. High turnover not only can result in stop and go progress on projects but can lead to knowledge leaks, intellectual property loss. To keep it under control USE has implemented a well-thought HR strategy that includes career path definition, regular career reviews, training programs, financial incentives, the right mix between more senior and younger developers, and proper management of the “natural” turnover.

USE's policy on intellectual property rights is to observe laws and regulations associated with Intellectual Property Rights Law, protect the results of intellectual activities with the rights and make extensive use of those rights, and respect the legitimate intellectual property rights of third parties.
